It might just be wishful thinking. It's pretty warm still. Temps below the 4000 foot level really have to get into the 20's for more than 24 hours...for several nights solidly below freezing at least. It barely got below freezing in Huntington last night. The rock hasn't cooled down yet so even if an inch or two forms, it will most likely just pull off or collapse when you try to climb it. I'm sure there will be some ice up there Saturday morning to play on...the question will be, 'will it stay put?'

If it hits 10F-12F again Saturday night and stays below freezing all day, then Sunday...maybe?

Its currently 16 degrees on the summit at 12 noon.

Temps are sliding down (should bottom out at near 5) and should not recover to above freezing until sunday.

If she doesn't go by Sunday, certianly will by month end after the next rebound. (maybe even Dike)

Phooey, crap forecast. not 20F but 30F in the parking lot at Cannon this morning. Not a chance of ice, didn't even bother hiking up to look. but maybe in Huntington on Mt. Washington?
