Seems that there are many sneaky climbers that have been mocking the rules pertaining to ice climbing in Lake Superior Park.
There are a few long ice climbs that are found on the cliff that is north of the Agawa River. These can be seen while driving north along highway 17. ALL of these were climbed between 1980 and 1990 before the ice climbing ban.
Best to stay off these climbs, or the park might decide to close ice climbiing in the whole park including the new park extension that covers the Montreal River Ice.
I have asked the Park Warden to put together a letter and a map outlining the areas where climbing in allowed.
