Re: EASTERN LAKE SUPERIOR ICE UPDATE 5/1/08
We were out to rock climb along Mile 38 Road on April 28th.
We discovered that there still was climbable ice in the K-16 corridor, and the road was not drivable due to snow and ice up to 2 feet deep on the road.
Rocks on south faces are climbable and the weather has been terrific. North facing rock facing have snow and ice at the base and in gullies.

Re: EASTERN LAKE SUPERIOR ICE UPDATE 9/1/08
A wet summer so far has added to the ground water levels. Work is being carried out on trail maintenance to several areas along mile 38 road as well as access points to Cerro De Hielo. Mile 38 Road and Carp River road will be closed again this winter.
