Re: Batchawana Bay-Montreal River-Agawa Conditions
Warm weathwer is doing a toll to the ice over here.
Rivers are slushy up, and ice is getting thinner. At this rate only a few weeks left for climbing.
Agawa Ice is thin. The climb Huayhuash is really the best in years, but was slushy on Monday. Other climbs are thin, and melting quickly. Snow is wet and heavy for breaking trail. Heading to Agawa is not recommended unless it gets colder. Climbs at level 2 and 3 on Mile 38 Road are finished for this year unless cold air returns.
South facing ice at Montreal River is melting quickly.
Beware of all south facing ice climbs that are thin and hanging.

End of Season is Soon
Ice in this region is coming to a close soon. Thanks to everyone that visited this year, and to those that assisted in developing new climbs, investing in the parking fund, and to cleaning up the campsites at Agawa and Cerro De Hielo.
