Looks like you got yourself a "clothesline" rigg for your camera Doug, sweet! Is it manual or motorized? Do you have video assist to frame from below?

Wow, it looks like an aerial shot? Was this shot from the new NEice drone? Maybe you can use it "clear out" the crowds when gangroping gets out of control;)

The season has barely started and we're already typing the word gangroping! I love it!!!

Did Standard yesterday. Still not fat, but probably would have taken screws. Even did a few laps on one of the steeper variations on the left side of the upper curtain. Everything is forming well. Amphitheater still needs lots of cold, Draculu probably would have gone at least on T.R. Penguin still needs time, but getting there.

Hey Gang,
I took a swing over to Frankenstein today to do a little ice bouldering and check on conditions. Things still look thin, but let's hope the precip and cold temperatures will fatten them up. Here's a few pics. I think the order is Dracula, Pegasus, Chia, and a shot from the bridge.352353354355

Went up to climb Standard today (12/19). Good enough to climb today, saw 2 other parties there. We climbed up the right side to the ring anchors in the cave while another party climbed the more central route. We rapped back down and went up the main line all the way to the top. The ice was fat enough but was suffering from the warmer temps and rain of the past day. Most of the surface of the ice was slushy, some of the ice looked detached from the rock with water running behind. There was a section on the second pitch right in the middle that had melted out with LOTS of water running. The cave was very drippy. For climbing, you could scrape away some of the surface slush and get to better quality ice for screws. Once colder temps arrive, the route will thicken quickly. It is very charged with water, now we just need the temps to make it freeze.

Dracula was well-leadable and led yesterday (12.23.12) soaking wet and coming in fast. Enjoy!

Climbed Arethusa 12/23. The left and right thirds of the flow are both in good shape (middle is still wet with flowing water but it's possible to cross at the base). Certainly more ice than the climbs along the tracks at Frankenstein.

Led Dracula today. The top section was really wet and slushy, was probably no point placing screws. Was fun but thin..
