Anyone been to the Buttermilk area or Stoney? I'm thinking of going to take a look tomorrow...

most climbs thin and wet as of yesterday. LBD was lookin' good. enjoy the talus approach with just enough snow to make it really annoying! that is all.

Stoney Clove received 6" of very light snow Sunday night, so now the loose, downsloping rocks on the approach REALLY suck. East Crag and East Pillar were very climbable today (Monday 27th). The former took 13s and 16s. We TR'ed the Pillar, as it was in the sun and the last bodylength below the drytooling finish was delam'ed and melting. Plus, well, we're wimps /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif FWIW I disagree with Marty's M1 rating of that top section, but that's for another thread I guess.

lots of climbing at deep notch, used 17cm and 22 cm screws, you could here water running under the ice, it's starting to de lam around the edges, typical thin top outs, need some colder temps, the easist way approach was to get directly below your intended climb and go straight up the slope

Anyone been to the clove later than 12/31. Wondering about conditions for sunday 1/9....I am optimistic and want to get out one more time before the expected warm up next week
